Unavailable Mounting Space: An otherwise available space not available due to
design or price considerations. This space is not available for any design, so if
the weapon you design doesn't have a barrel space, you cannot get the
Suppression design option.
|
Steel Construction: All-steel construction. This is the cheapest and one of the
easiest ways to maufacture a firearm, but it is also a heavier way.
|
Alloy Construction: The standard firearm of the twenty-first century is made
of an alloy construction. Lighter than steel and just as durable, it is a popular
manufacturing method.
|
Polymer-resin Construction: Incorporating polymer-resins into design introduces
great weight reductions depending on how much metal is replaced. Polymer-resin weapons
do not have the sturdy nature of their metal cousins, and as such are liable to
malfunction or break when under high stress. [sec]
|
Ceramic Construction: Ceramic construction is the cutting edge of weapon materials
design. High-impact strength ceramics, with high temperature tolerances and incredibly
smooth surfaces reduce weight at an amazing rate. The sleeker lines also provide a higher
concealability rating. [mil]
|
Advanced Alloy Construction: Bleeding edge, beyond the SOTA design. Advanced alloys
are molecularly bonded ceramics, metals and polymers. Zero-gee manufactured alloys and the
molecular bonding processes shave incredible amounts of weight and bulk, all while retaining,
and even surpassing alloys and steel in strength. This technology is in extremely limited
production, consisting of field-test and research weapons only. It is an advanced military
grade design.
|
Underbarrel Mounted Weapon: This integrates a secondary weapon into the main weapon.
Available on Assault Rifle frames only. [mil]
Shotgun: A cut-down shotgun (12- or 16-gauge) used primarily as a close-up personal defense weapon. Grenade Launcher: A cut-down mini-grenade launcher used for short- to moderate-ranged heavy support. |
Carbine Modification: This modification is for Assault Rifle frames only. It uses a
submachine gun-sized frame with a rifle-sized cartridge. The carbine modification also
requires the Telescoping Stock modification (space cost already factored).
|
Weight Modification
|
Compact Design: This is incompatible with the Carbine Modification.
|
Suppression: An integral Silencer or Suppressor. This uses
the "Barrel" space on a weapon. A Silencer cannot be used in a burst-fire
(BF) or fully-automatic (FA) weapon; a Supressor is used in those weapons
instead. [sec]

Telescoping Stock
|
Capacity Increase/Decrease
|
Caseless Ammunition Design: Adds 20% to ammunition capacity.
|
CAWS Design: (SH, 12-gauge only) The CAWS design is a military improvement
on the standard (2-3/4 inch) shotgun cartridge. A CAWS cartridge is 3-inches long,
capable of carrying a much more powerful load. A CAWS shotgun cannot fire standard
shells, nor can a standard shotgun fire CAWS shells. This is a security
technology.
|
Advanced Chamber Design: Revolutionary chamber design traps and diverts
propellant gases to absorb some of the recoil. Can only be used in a
Gas-Operated weapon.
|
Personalization: This option allows for the end-user to adjust the grip
to a more comfortable setting, thereby giving one point of recoil reduction.
|
Improved Gas Vent: An improved variety of the Gas Vent, this option provides (Level +1) recoil compensation. Restrictions as above.
Gyro Mount: A stabilization harness that acts to
neutralize movement and recoil penalties. When worn, it adds +1 to Ballistic
and Impact armor. It cannot be concealed when worn; the Conceal factor
below only applies to the mounting on the firearm. Recoil Rating is 5 for the
standard version, 6 for the deluxe. [ref: SR2 pp. 240, 256] [sec]
Improved Gyro Mount: An improved variant of the Gyro Mount. Recoil
Rating is 5 for the standard, 7 for the deluxe version. [ref SR2 p. 280]
